Hi, I’m Courtney Gary — wife to Louis Gary, III, mom to four amazing kids, business owner, and if you’ve ever seen one of our brand shirts, hats, or stickers — probably the one who made it!

Alongside my husband, I’m proud to help run Southern Chill A/C and Heating, LLC, a Southwest Louisiana HVAC company built from the ground up on faith, grit, and good old-fashioned hustle.

Our story isn’t the polished, perfect kind. It’s the real kind — the one you earn with sweat, sacrifice, and a whole lot of prayer.

How It All Started

Southern Chill didn’t come from comfort — it came from a fire to do things differently. After years of working for companies that treated customers like transactions and employees like numbers, Louis saw a better way:

• A business built on honesty

• A business where employees were treated like family

• A business that put real service before sales

In 2019, we stepped out on faith, with no outside funding, no shortcuts — just a dream and determination. Louis worked endless days and nights, wearing every hat you can imagine — installer, salesman, dispatcher, bookkeeper — and I was right there with him, managing life, the kids, and helping wherever I could.

The Hard Lessons and Growing Pains

It wasn’t all easy.

In the beginning, we made a lot of the classic small business mistakes — sometimes giving opportunities based on loyalty instead of standards.

It was tough, and honestly painful at times, learning that good intentions aren’t always enough to build a strong team.

We had to build a true foundation based on accountability, structure, and clear expectations — not just trust.

But those hard lessons are what sharpened us. Today, every person who wears the Southern Chill badge is held to the highest standards: Faith in our work, Integrity in every interaction, Excellence in every home we touch.

Because the world doesn’t stand still, neither do we. We’ve invested heavily in ourselves and our team:

• Attending national conventions, HVAC expos, and technical training events

• Constantly learning about new rules, regulations, freon changes, and evolving codes

• Staying on top of price fluctuations, so we can serve customers transparently and fairly

• Adapting to new technology and best practices
